Oberon Railway Station Group

Oberon Railway Station is now the focus of an outdoor museum. Inside the station are displays about the beginnings of the town, while outside one of the most popular attractions are the two railway carriages. There are also settlers huts, a working blacksmiths shop and many piece of fascinating machinery rarely seen today.

Located one block off Oberon's main street in Scotia Avenue the Museum is situated adjacent to the Oberon railway station and shunting grounds.

Apart from over 150 pieces of early farm machinery dotted around the nearly two acres of level display area the Museum also boasts a wide and varied collection of artefacts and memorabilia housed inside the original 1920s railway station with its two (circa 1925) passenger rail carriages.

The Water Garden at Mayfield Garden

The Water Garden at Mayfield Garden is a spectacular water and stone feature garden purpose built to provide visitors with a breath-taking garden experience, year round. The Water Garden boasts hewn blue-stone walls guiding visitors along winding paths past cascades, across bridges to a wide circular pond with 16 metre high obelisk at it's heart.

Features within the Water Garden include a water dripping copper tree fountain, stone and steel wisteria arbor, an all?e of London Plane trees, and a stunning blue-stone bridge with cascade folly.

Oberon Show

Oberon's annual Agricultural Show returns.

Enjoy plenty of action and activity at the Oberon Show. A colourful showcase of country life with plenty of action and activity including dog championships, equestrian events, ute competition, stationary engines, fireworks, and a wonderful display of produce, flowers, and craft in the pavilion.

Children can enjoy rides and sideshow alley as well as the animal nursery. Saturday's program ends with spectacular fireworks. Appetising refreshments are also on offer.

Highlands Steam and Vintage Fair

If it's heritage, then the Oberon Highlands Steam and Vintage Fair has it.

The fair is held annually in Oberon, with event set up, and the tractor trek, and car and truck road runs (entrants only), on Friday.

Saturday has a street parade at 10am, followed by all the action at the Fair Ground. Sunday starts with the early bird tractor trek and displays until noon. No entry fees on Sunday due to reduced activities and displays.

Free entry for exhibitors, on site camping available (limited space available).

Featuring historic machinery, vintage and classic car displays, steam traction engines, steam portables and stationary engines, vintage trucks and lots of tractors. Tractor treks, fun tractor pull, car and truck rally, the flying pieman organ, market stalls, drum maker, timber working, military displays including Lithgow Living History Group.

Mayfield Garden Private Garden Autumn Open Days

Mayfield Garden is one of the world's largest privately owned cool climate gardens and is home to a private garden, and the Water Garden which is a year-round visitor experience.
