Geraldine 4WD Recreation Park


Geraldine 4WD Recreation Park opened in January 2010 and is looking for people or groups who are four wheel drive enthusiasts. A working sheep / wool property ideal for four wheel drive use.

The park consists of 2,250 hectares of undulating country to use as your four wheel drive playground. Plenty of tracks to play on or go your own way. Camping facilities available for those wishing to stay.

Geraldine 4WD Recreation Park wants you to enjoy safe four wheel driving for all levels of experience. Many 4WD clubs have experienced Geraldine 4WD Recreation Park and have been impressed with the trails and facilities available.

Langford Homestead


Langford Homestead is a grand Edwardian Mansion on the outskirts of Walcha, one kilometre south of town on Thunderbolts Way.

Tours are available by prior arrangement with the owners, and they take around an hour.

Construction of William Fletcher's "Langford" mansion commenced in May 1903 and was completed in October 1904. It is in immaculate condition with restoration and additions having been made by the current owners.

Walcha Mountain Festival


Enjoy the two day Walcha Mountain Festival and all it has to offer.

Saturday activities run in conjunction with the Walcha Farmers Market and a Trash n' Treasure Market, offering a Road Ride Cycle challenge, a Billy Cart Derby, a Quilt Exhibition that runs over both days.

Sunday activities are held in the beautiful grounds of historic Langford homestead, one kilometre south of Walcha on Thunderbolts Way. The main event is the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Mountain Bike Challenge which is supported by a festival of quality markets, food and coffee stalls, free kids activities, a live band and fashion parades, tours of Langford, a three course long lunch (bookings essential), and the Langford Bar serving local beers and wines.

Vintage cars and model boats are on display, and the quilt exhibition continues. A horse trail ride is available (bookings are essential). Great raffle prizes.

Walcha Garden Festival


Enjoy some of Walcha's stunning cool-climate gardens over the two day Garden Festival, showcasing seven beautiful gardens south of Walcha along Thunderbolts Way.

Walcha Visitor Information Centre strives to promptly assist visitors with their enquiries, having staff armed with an extensive knowledge of the area.

There is a huge range of maps and brochures available to inspire your next activity or trip. An abundance of outdoor activities on Walcha's doorstep can be accessed easily within a short drive from town. Highlights are the Apsley and Tia Waterfalls, Budds Mare Lookout and Riverside (over 700 metres in depth from the rim of one of Australia's largest gorge systems).
